Environment Canada is warning of extreme cold for much of B-C and more snow for regions including Metro Vancouver, the southern Gulf Island and inland Vancouver Island. It’s forecasting 10 to 15 centimetres of snow across Metro Vancouver and the western Fraser Valley this morning as well as wind warnings for areas such as Surrey, Langley, Delta and Richmond. The province’s advocate for seniors is calling on the public to ensure sidewalks, steps and driveways are cleared of snow to keep seniors safe, especially for those with limited mobility. Isobel Mackenzie says neighbours should also consider salting walkways in front of the homes of seniors and to be mindful that snowfall can disrupt home care services and delivery of meals, groceries and medications.
