B-C Ferries is advising customers to avoid all non-essential travel as it continues to provide service to connect communities and deliver essential goods in the province. The company says it’s taking several measures to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19, including extensive cleaning and encouraging customers to remain in their cars if they can. Ship routes between West Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast are also being adjusted, which involves changes to the late afternoon sailing routes. The company says the measure discontinues a practice where two ships have been conducting sailings on two different routes in the late afternoon period — instead, each ship will sail on just one route.
