Joe Biden’s November U-S presidential election win has been certified by the Senate and the House, much to the chagrin of President Donald Trump. After this morning’s confirmation, Trump issued a statement saying that he disagrees with the results but there will be an orderly transfer of power. That admission comes hours after hundreds of Trump’s supporters descended on the Capitol building in a rampage that left four people dead. World leaders are reacting to the violent breach of the U-S Capitol. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says the deadly convergence on the Capitol shows the fragility of Western democracy. He says that despite advances America has made in science and industry, populism has a firm ground in the country. Iran routinely faces U-S criticism over violations of human rights and democratic values.
