Comox Firefighters are giving away 600 custom made chocolate bars to Comox Valley essential workers. Using their own money the firefighters worked with local company, Hot Chocolates to make and custom label these bars. Comox firefighters will be dropping these off at various locations (like the hospital) to be given to essential workers. Comox Fire Chief Gord Schreiner says: ‘‘I am so proud of our firefighters. They do so much for our community and are always looking for creative ways to make a positive difference. Not only does this project show our support to some of our many local essential workers but it also support local business. Comox Firefighter Association chairperson, Sandy Pridmore says: ‘‘We have a great team of firefighters here in Comox and we are always looking for ways to help our community. We recognize that there are hundreds of very important essential workers out there and we will not have enough bars to go around but we wanted to do what we could.’’
