Morgues are overflowing in the besieged southern Ukrainian port city of Mariupol and individual burials aren’t possible because the city is under constant bombardment. So crews dug a deep trench about 25-metres long in an old cemetery in the heart of the city and are now burying people in a mass grave. Social workers brought 40 bodies wrapped in carpets or bags to the trenches. No mourners were there, no families said their goodbyes.
