B-C’s premier says the province is giving half a billion dollars to B-C ferries to help counter inflation costs for customers. David Eby says the hope is to keep annual fare increases below 3 per cent. The province says increases in costs like fuel and inflation are driving up overall fees for the service, and the funding will also go to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions through electrification of vessels. This comes as the province prepares to table its new budget on Tuesday and Eby says his government will continue investing in health care, housing and affordability.
