The leader of the B-C Liberals says the provincial government’s appeal of a ruling on the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion risks further retaliation from Alberta. Andrew Wilkinson says Premier John Horgan needs to swallow his pride, call his counterpart in Edmonton and make the pipeline dispute disappear before B-C is hurt any further. The province announced Saturday that it is appealing a decision by the National Energy Board that allows Kinder Morgan Canada to bypass Burnaby’s bylaws in constructing the pipeline expansion. The government says the board too broadly defined federal jurisdiction in the ruling, and Horgan says the province is entitled to appeal.
