B-C government says it’s helping renters by spending 1.9 billion dollars over the next 10 years to build 14-thousand affordable homes. The new rental homes will be built through partnerships with municipalities, non-profit groups and housing co-operatives. At least 30 per cent of the units in each project must be for those with moderate incomes, and 20 per cent for low incomes. Premier John Horgan says fixing B-C’s housing crisis isn’t just about home ownership, but also means ensuring those who rent can find and afford homes.
