B-C government says it’s making an adjustment of 950 million dollars in the public accounts to reduce B-C Hydro’s deferral accounts. Finance Minister Carole James says that through the adjustment and an ongoing review of the utility, the government is working on solutions that will keep rates affordable, and people won’t see a change on their existing hydro bills. James made the statements following the release of the province’s public accounts. The accounts showed an operating surplus of 301 million dollars for the year, which is 55 million higher than the surplus forecast in the budget update last fall.
