B-C Hydro is getting a good review from the province’s auditor general for the way it’s managing the dams, generating stations and power lines. Carol Bellringer says even though some generating facilities are more than 85 years old, they continue to operate near full capacity. Her audit found that B-C Hydro’s assets are valued at more than 25 billion dollars and that it invested almost 2.5 billion on renewals, repairs and replacements during the last fiscal year. But it did not examine the 10.7-billion-dollar Site C dam project, which is currently under construction in northeast B-C and not slated for completion until 2024.
