BC Property Assessments

               Topsy-turvey property assessment values in B-C are up in some areas and down in others. The valuations issued by the B-C Assessment authority show a general downturn in Metro Vancouver’s home values, something Tsur Somerville at U-B-C’s Sauder School of Business says has been a rare occurrence. Although Somerville says it’s also unusual that there are properties within the same communities in B-C that have both rising and falling assessments. B-C Assessment says valuations in commercial properties and in many other areas outside of Metro Vancouver have seen increases in their property values.
