A Courtenay man killed in the Ethiopian Airlines crash is being remembered as a bright and rising star in B-C’s environment circles. Micah Messent was en route to Nairobi to attend the fourth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly as a delegate for the U-N Association in Canada. Friends posting their remembrances of Messent on Facebook are calling him a true leader. Monica Phung was in a conservation program with him called Ocean Bridge and describes him as energetic, enthusiastic, smart and driven.
