Labour Law Changes

The province has introduced legislation to better protect children and youth from dangerous work. Labour Minister Harry Bains says the changes to the province’s employment standards will also make it easier for workers to get help when they feel their rights have been violated. Bains says the N-D-P government is bringing back basic rights and protections that were gutted by the former Liberal government. The proposed amendments would also provide more job protection to people dealing with difficult personal circumstances and ensure people are paid the wages they are owed.
