B-C has filed legal action aimed at stopping Alberta from using a new law to cut oil shipments to the West Coast. The application filed in Calgary asks for an injunction against Bill 12, which B-C Premier John Horgan argues is unconstitutional. Newly-elected Alberta Premier Jason Kenney insists he will only use the law as a measure of last resort if B-C continues to obstruct the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. Horgan says he doesn’t want to be provocative or challenge the relationship between the provinces, but he has to act in his province’s best interests.
