BC Cannabis Store has officially opened its doors in the Comox Valley.
The government-run recreational cannabis shop is the second such store to open on Vancouver Island, a Campbell River location opened up on July 31st.
The store is located at the Washington Park Shopping Centre at 2A – 759 Ryan Road in Courtenay.
Tyson Muzzillo, Regional Manager of Cannabis Operations with the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) said about 15 stores are expected to open across the province by the end of the year. BC Cannabis Store is set to open in Port Alberni next Wednesday.
The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the non-medical cannabis and alcoholic beverages industry in B.C. It contributes more than $1.1 billion dollars annually to the province, providing funding for vital public services like health care and education.
