More legal challenges have been approved as Indigenous and environmental groups fight the planned expansion of the Trans Mountain pipeline. The Federal Court of Appeal says six of 12 proposed challenges can proceed. All of the approved challenges relate to issues regarding the adequacy of consultation with Indigenous groups. Legal challenges halted work on the pipeline expansion shortly after the federal government approved it for the first time, and officials said earlier this year that concerns raised by those challenges had been resolved, allowing the twinning of the pipeline to resume.
