City of Campbell River has set up an emergency response centre amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Andy Adams says the centre will be the communications point for multiple organizations. He says the city will implement all provincial and federal recommendations as soon as possible. City of Courtenay has opened a level one emergency operations centre in response to coronavirus. City of Campbell River, Comox Valley and Strathcona R-Ds, Town of Comox and the City of Courtenay have also shut down all recreational facilities until further notice.
