The R-C-M-P say the death toll following a shooting rampage in rural Nova Scotia has risen to 16, in addition to the shooter. Assistant Commissioner Lee Bergerman says among the dead is one of their own — Constable Heidi Stevenson, a 23-year member of the force and mother of two. Police say the shooting spree began Saturday night and continued well into Sunday morning, stretching across the northern part of the province. Investigators have identified the suspected gunman as 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman, but few other details about the victims or a motive have been released.
