Vancouver is being considered as a possible hub city for the National Hockey League if play resumes in the near future. The league’s commissioner Gary Bettman says the decision depends on COVID-19 conditions, testing availability and government regulations in each of the possible hub cities. Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says B-C is not prepared to loosen health restrictions to allow players and team officials to bypass rules when it comes to travel and quarantine. The City of Vancouver shared some early economic recovery plans in a document released yesterday called “Restart Smart,” which says the city is focused on advocating for support from senior levels of government.
