On October 15th, 2020, the Campbell River RCMP responded to a report of an assault which occurred outside the Royal Bank on Shoppers Row in Campbell River shortly before 11:00 pm. Upon attendance it was determined that a 60 year old man had been assaulted and required medical attention. The victim of the assault was transported to local hospital by BC Ambulance Service for assessment and further medical care. While at the hospital, the victim’s condition deteriorated significantly. The victim subsequently died in hospital on October 17th, 2020. The Campbell River RCMP and BC Coroner’s service are continuing to investigate this assault. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this time,
