British Columbia’s top doctor says COVID-19 restrictions that were set to expire on Januray 8th have been extended to February 5th at midnight. Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says the curve of the outbreak is starting to trend up again in B-C and now is not the time to ease public health rules that restrict social gatherings. The number of COVID-19 cases has passed 56-thousand in B-C with an additional 761 new cases reported today. Henry says there have also been another eight deaths — all residents of long-term care.
