Drivers and pedestrians are being told be extra careful on area roadways after the weekend time change. ICBC Spokesperson Caroline Robinson says it’ll be getting darker earlier in the day. Some things that drivers need to anticipate include it being darker as you leave for and from work. “Drivers need to make sure their headlights are working, that your windshield wipers are in good condition, and take extra caution around intersections in case of pedestrians or cyclists,” Robinson states. She continues saying the time change can effect our internal clock which in turn effects our response time, alertness, and concentration. Robinson says it often takes drivers some time to get used to the time change. ICBC also encourages pedestrians to wear reflective clothing so it’s easier for drivers to see you.
