A series of heat warnings are covering inland sections of B-C’s north and central coast, along with the Sunshine Coast and eastern parts of Vancouver Island. Environment Canada says daytime highs near 30 degrees Celsius are expected in communities including Kitimat and Terrace before cooling tomorrow night. On Vancouver Island, the weather office says daytime highs between 29 and 34 degrees are expected inland and along the island’s east coast — with the same highs forecast for the Sunshine Coast from Gibsons to Powell River. Environment Canada says cooler temperatures starting Friday are expected to stretch into the weekend.
