The B-C government has reached a new pay deal for family doctors — raising the salary of a full-time physician to 385-thousand dollars, a 135-thousand dollar boost. The pact was reached last week under the new Physician Master Agreement with Doctors of B-C — the organization that represents all doctors in the province. The new fee schedule for general practitioners maintains the fee-for-service model but adds payments for hours worked, administrative costs and the number and complexity of patients. The three-year agreement, which still needs to be ratified, would take effect February 1st.
