The entertainment world has lost a versatile member with the death of Canadian Alan Thicke. The Kirkland Lake, Ontario-born actor, writer and composer has died in Los Angeles at the age of 69. A publicist for Thicke’s son, “Blurred Lines” singer Robin Thicke, says he died from a heart attack. Alan Thicke played Dr. Jason Seaver on the A-B-C comedy “Growing Pains” from 1985 to ’92, sandwiched between gigs as a T-V talk-show host in Canada and later in the U-S. He also composed theme songs for such T-V shows as “Diff’rent Strokes” and “The Facts of Life.”
