Members of search and rescue teams from across B-C were in Victoria on Thursday for the unveiling of a monument honouring those killed while trying to help others. It is located on the grounds of the B-C legislature near similar memorials for other first responders. The stone monument includes the names of those who have died in the line of duty. Representatives from the search and rescue groups who have volunteers listed on the memorial are invited to today’s unveiling, along with the families of the victims.
