It could be a couple of weeks until B-C residents know whether their province has a minority or a majority government. Premier Christy Clark got the lieutenant-governor’s O-K to continue at the helm after the Liberals squeaked out a victory over the N-D-P, giving B-C its first minority government in 65 years — if the results hold. The Liberals won 43 seats while the N-D-P took 41 and the Greens won three in the 87-seat legislature, leaving the Liberals one seat short of a majority. It will take at least two weeks for 176-thousand absentee ballots to be counted — which could flip close ridings — and there could also be judicial recounts.
