Following his party’s joyous swearing-in ceremony at the B-C legislature, N-D-P Leader John Horgan says he wants to get to work to test Liberal Premier Christy Clark’s hold on power. Horgan — who has made an agreement with the Greens to bring down the minority Liberal government and allow the New Democrats to govern — says he’s tired of delays. Clark’s Liberals have 43 seats — not enough for a majority government — while the N-D-P have 41 and the Greens have three. Asked why she doesn’t concede and hold an immediate confidence vote when the legislature returns on June 22nd, Clark said times of uncertainty demand order and she plans to stick to parliamentary rules.
