Premier John Horgan says Canada needs to stay united in its approach to the ongoing softwood lumber dispute with the U-S. His comments follow word that the U-S Commerce Department will impose countervailing and anti-dumping fees of almost 20 per cent on Canadian producers — down from a level of about 27 per cent that was previously announced. Horgan told a news conference at B-C’s legislature that the narrow interests of a few greedy lumber barons in the southern states are to blame. He says it’s just a small group of people causing the impasse, but it’s affecting millions and millions of people’s lives.
