National Energy Board is allowing Kinder Morgan Canada to bypass some bylaws that stand in the way of its Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. The N-E-B says the company doesn’t have to comply with two sections of Burnaby, B-C’s bylaws. The company had filed notices with the board in October, claiming that permit delays in Burnaby were hindering a federally approved project. The decision was met with outrage by those opposed to the project, but was welcomed by proponents who say it’s good for the country.
