Drivers are being reminded to turn on your headlights as it gets darker earlier. RCMP Constable Rob Gardner says with the early darkness and the rain, it’s more difficult to see other vehicles on the road. He says a lot of new vehicles have it so when you turn your car on, your dash lights come on, but those are just day time running lights. Gardner continues saying day time running lights are adequate lighting for a summer day, but just aren’t good enough for this time of year with it being darker and all the rain. “Anytime there is any reduced visibility, you should have your headlights on, that way your tail lights and headlights are on,” Gardner states. RCMP also remind motorists to slow down and drive to the weather conditions.
