Time to Change the Batteries in Your Smoke Alarms

/ 97.3 The Eagle

People are being reminded to change the battery in your smoke alarms. Captain Rob Stevens with Comox Fire Rescue says it should be done every time we change the clocks. He says the battery is a back up in case you loose power. Stevens states you need the batteries to be up to date so you have that emergency system in place. “So you put the battery in, most models will have a light to notify you if there is power, and hit the test button to make sure it works” continues Stevens. Stevens says it’s also a good idea to switch the battery in your CO detector.
