We are now into week four of a boil water notice in the Comox Valley. Comox Valley Regional District Water Services Manager Mike Herschmiller says turbidity levels are still too high to lift the notice. “We are really just in a waiting game right now,” states Herschmiller. “The lake needs to flush a little bit and it currently is trending down.” The turbidity levels were lowering, but storms we experienced on November 20 and 22 brought them up again. “Some sustained, moderate rain would help us.” Herschmiller says the CVRD is hoping to life the boil water notice soon. Residents can stay up to date on the status of the boil water notice on the CVRD website.
