Seismic Upgrades Coming to Cortes Island School

The Campbell River School District has received some funding from the province to seismically upgrade the school on Cortes Island. Board Chair Susan Wilson says the $2.3-million will be used for various improvements including upgrades to the gym and classrooms. “It’s very nice to realize that this is the last one that has the higher risk rating on it,” states Wilson. District 72 is committing $200-thousand to repair the school’s roof.
