This season’s flu virus is starting to make its presence felt as the bug slowly makes its way up Vancouver Island. Medical Health Officer Dr. Paul Hasselback says there’s been a spike in flu cases at hospitals and other medical facilities. Health officials say it’s not too late to get a flu shot, which covers the dominant strain that’s making the rounds. As many as 230 thousand doses of the vaccine have given out on Vancouver Island so far.
