The B-C government says it is well on its way to increasing its agrifood and seafood sector revenues to 15 billion dollars a year by 2020. The province is reporting record revenues of 13 billion dollars for its agrifood and seafood producers in 2015, with exports of 3.5 billion dollars. The government says it has met 11 of the commitments it made in its strategic growth plan, including completion of an international market development strategy and bringing in a 25 per cent tax credit on the value of farmed food donated to non-profit organizations. Other actions that have been taken include establishment of a seafood secretariat and implementation of a new Fish and Seafood Act.
