Members of the Wilderness Committee delivered a petition to the legislature containing more than 40-thousand signatures, as environmentalists demand a law protecting endangered species. The Wilderness Committee says provincial laws must safeguard the 19-hundred species at risk in this province. Those include everything from grizzly bears, to caribou, Vancouver Island marmots, American badgers, bees, butterflies and the 12 spotted owls believed to remain in the wild in B-C. New Democrat and Green party M-L-As are slated take part in the event, along with members of the Wilderness Committee.
