B-C Teachers’ Federation is going after the Liberals for what they’re calling failures in providing quality education to children. Union president Glen Hansman previewed advertisements set to hit the airwaves this week criticizing the Liberals ahead of the May 9th election. Hansman told teachers at the union’s annual meeting Saturday that the Liberals have “short-changed” schools and students for the last 15 years having blocked teacher’s from negotiating class sizes. A court ruling last fall reinstated previous class-size requirements and the union and province came to a new agreement earlier this month, but Hansman says pressure must be kept on the government after years of cuts.
