Premier Christy Clark is promising to create what she says will be a new Silicon Valley north if the Liberals remain in power after the May election. Clark says the tech sector in the province is thriving and is promising action to ensure the industry continues growing. That includes teaching coding to students in grades six through nine, updating Vancouver’s Robson Square as an innovation hub, and ensuring B-C tech businesses are first in line for government contracts. Clark says the goal is to boost employment from 106-thousand to 120-thousand and to increase investment in the tech sector by an additional 100 million dollars by 2020.
