The international president of the United Steelworkers Union says claims by British Columbia Liberal Leader Christy Clark that he supports U.S. tariffs on Canadian softwood are lies. Leo Gerard says his members know he’s been fighting for them on both sides of the border. Gerard says he questions if Clark really wants to protect B.C. jobs and calls her accusations dishonest and hypocritical. He says Clark collected an extra $50,000 salary from the Liberal party and the money was coming from contributions made by the same timber companies that are pushing for a tariff on Canadian exports.
