A political science professor at the University of the Fraser Valley says it could be a while before the election dust finally settles. Given how close a number of ridings were in the election, Hamish Telford says recounts may well be requested. Elections B-C also says absentee ballots won’t even start being counted until May 22nd. Telford also says it’s not certain that Premier Christy Clark will be able to govern. He cites the 1985 Ontario election as a comparable example — where the incumbent Conservatives won a narrow minority but were ousted when the third party New Democrats decided to support the Liberals.
