Ban on Cetaceans

/ 97.3 The Eagle
Vancouver’s park board is expected to vote tonight on the future of whales and dolphins at the city’s aquarium. Abylaw has been proposed that would ban any new cetaceans from being put on display at the facility. The Vancouver Aquarium has fiercely opposed the ban, with president John Nightingale saying it will force rescuers to euthanize whales, dolphins and porpoises that need to be cared for in a facility. But board chair Michael Wiebe says cetaceans are best treated in their natural habitats.
