A military spokesman says crews may spend weeks searching for a small plane that disappeared en route to Kamloops. Lieutenant Colonel Bryn Elliott says 15 military aircraft were back in the air yesterday, scouring a vast area around the plane’s intended flight path, from Cranbrook to Kamloops. Police say it’s believed a 21-year-old pilot and his 24-year-old passenger were on board the aircraft when it went missing Thursday afternoon. Elliot says low clouds and heavily wooded terrain are making the search difficult, but crews will continuing flying over the area at various altitudes until they have covered it to their satisfaction — a process that he says could take weeks, depending on the weather.
