Horgan to be Sworn in as B-C Premier

              B-C’s New Democrats are set to taste power for the first time in 16 years today, but it’s likely to be bittersweet given the ongoing wildfire crisis in the province. When N-D-P Leader John Horgan is sworn in later today, he will take responsibility for a B-C-wide state of emergency that has displaced thousands of people. New Democrat M-L-A Carole James says her party is committed to a seamless transfer of power, which includes keeping Liberal politicians updated on the wildfire situation. Todd Stone, the outgoing minister responsible for emergency management, says there’s no place for politics when it comes to the crisis and he and his Liberal colleagues will do whatever they can to help the new government deal with the fires
