More than four thousand people are fighting about 150 wildfires burning across the province, including one that has forced the closure of a provincial park. The B-C Wildfire Service closed Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park near the B-C-Alberta boundary yesterday because the park is only accessible by hiking trails and would be difficult to evacuate in an emergency. Nearly 740 wildfires have burned through 37-hundred square kilometres since April 1st. The province has spent more than 125-million dollars on fire suppression this year.
