Thousands of Williams Lake residents who fled their homes as a wildfire neared are now being allowed to return to the city.
But they’re being warned that they could be forced to leave again, despite the lifting of the July 15th evacuation order.
Mayor Walt Cobb says wildfires near Williams Lake aren’t 100 per cent contained and changing weather conditions mean another evacuation could happen.
Cariboo Regional District chairman Al Richmond says returning evacuees should keep their things packed because they may have to leave at a moment’s notice.
