Soaring temperatures across B-C have led to increased power consumption. Hydro’s Karla Louwers says the power company reached its highest peak hourly demand on Monday at close to 73-hundred megawatts. That’s an increase of 444 megawatts over the previous Monday. Hydro is expecting peak hourly demand this week of between 75 and 85-hundred megawatts — breaking the previous record of 74-hundred megawatts set on August 11th, 2014.
