Kinder Morgan Pipeline Expansion

/ 97.3 The Eagle
B-C government has put the brakes on Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipeline expansion, at least temporarily, while the province joins the legal battle against the multibillion-dollar proposal. Construction was slated to begin next month, but B-C’s newly appointed N-D-P government is making good on its election pledge to use every tool at its disposal to block the project. Environment Minister George Heyman says the province has also hired Thomas Berger as special legal counsel and will seek intervener status in the court challenge against federal approval for the project. Trans Mountain was also approved by the province’s former Liberal government.
