A wildfire burning in the Thompson-Nicola and Cariboo regions has grown to over 181-thousand hectares in size. The B-C Wildfire Service says the fire, that started near Ashcroft on July 7th, has become more active due to recent hot and dry conditions. It moved beyond its northern containment lines Tuesday and is now a few kilometres away from Sheridan Lake, which is southwest of 100 Mile House. The service says climbing temperatures in the forecast for the weekend is raising concerns for more fires to spark in spread, especially in the province’s Interior and southeast.
