Affordable Housing

/ 97.3 The Eagle
The federal government is pledging billions of dollars for affordable housing, including a new individual benefit for low-income Canadians. The portable housing benefit could eventually provide up to 300-thousand households with an average of 25-hundred dollars in assistance. But the money won’t start flowing until 2021. A new program will also be established to help housing providers repair aging affordable units, and use their assets to leverage additional cash to build new ones.
